Reading Questions: FDR and the Shadow of War 

1.	Identify the examples of isolationism given in the book
2.	Identify the moves away from isolationism.  Be sure you include and know the steps that FDR took to help the Allies.
3.	How did the relations deteriorate between the United States and Japan?  List the actions that each side took leading up to Pearl Harbor

Read the selection and complete the map exercises.

You should be generally familiar with the military course of the war. Note the turning points.  Otherwise, you will not be responsible for the military history of the war.  Sorry about that

The steps that led to the outbreak of the war in Europe and Asia

o      Diplomacy during the war and the impact of the war on the world balance of power

o      The reasons why President decided to use the atomic bomb and criticisms of that decision
